Fatal Collision Between Bus and Truck in Jamshoro Leaves Two Dead

Meanwhile, in Jamshoro district, near Nooriabad on the M‑9 Motorway, a passenger coach traveling from Karachi to Larkana collided with a truck. The crash killed both the bus helper and the truck driver, and injured at least 10 passengers, some of them in serious condition.

Ambulance and rescue teams quickly moved the injured to nearby hospitals for medical care. Authorities said several injured had critical injuries and required intensive treatment.

Quick Rescue Response and Investigation Launched

Chakwal Rescue and Safety Officer Shaukat Ali praised the fast and professional actions of rescue workers at both sites. Agencies like Rescue 1122, the Motorway Police, Frontier Works Organisation, and local police coordinated effectively for emergency evacuation and medical aid.

Chakwal police say they have secured the accident site and launched a legal investigation. In that case, they also reported the bus driver fled the scene after the crash. Officials urged transport companies to conduct regular vehicle checks, especially for tyres, brakes, and steering systems, before long journeys.

Local leaders, including Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat, visited wounded patients and ensured they received prompt medical attention. Hospital officials confirmed that some of the critically injured were airlifted or transferred to hospitals in Rawalpindi for advanced care.

Why These Highway Crashes Keep Happening Across Pakistan

Expert observers say highway accidents remain common in Pakistan due to factors such as speeding, driver negligence, poor vehicle maintenance, and road design flaws. Many accidents are linked to overloaded buses and lack of enforcement in traffic laws.

Punjab’s traffic authorities repeatedly warn the public to follow rules and avoid dangerous overtaking. Regular checks and driver training are essential to prevent such tragedies. The authorities reiterated this message following the latest accidents, especially urging checks of tyres, brakes, and steering before long highway journeys.
