Barcelona wins the Spanish Super Cup Trophy

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid, the Spanish and European champions, 5-2 in the Supercopa de Espana final held in Saudi Arabia to win the first trophy of the Hansi Flick era.

Madrid’s archrivals in Jeddah left them bloodied and broken, despite their best efforts to exact revenge for their 4-0 home loss to Barcelona in the October La Liga Clasico.

Prior to the match, the players had claimed to know how to harm their fiercest opponent, i.e., Real Madrid. They had previously demonstrated that when they defeated them 4-0 in the league at the Bernabéu, and they did so once more in Saudi Arabia tonight.

Barcelona defender Jules Kounde told Movistar, “It’s really nice; it had been a season since we won a trophy. It’s always special, and on top of that, it’s a Clásico against Real Madrid.”

When halftime rolled along, the game was effectively finished. Prior to the half, Barca had dominated their way into a 4-1 lead, despite giving up an early goal. How amazing!

The first half goals came from Lamine, Raphinha, Lewandowski (pen), and Balde. Raphinha then scored a second goal early in the second half.

In the fourth minute, Kylian Mbappé gave Real Madrid the lead.Barcelona led 4-1 at the half after goals from Raphinha and Alejandro Balde, as well as an equalizer from Lamine Yamal in the 22nd minute and a penalty kick from Robert Lewandowski.

Barca would be playing a man down in the final 30 minutes, but they would still lead by three. Madrid genuinely thought they had a chance to get back into this situation.

It was now time for Barça to put their defensive gears back on, focus intently, and work the clock down.

In recent years, Madrid has made late escapes an art form, but tonight, their opponents would not permit them to do so.

A Madrid comeback grew less and less likely as the minutes passed because of the Blaugrana’s excellent job of controlling them.

With two goals and an assist, Raphinha was a key player and was named Man of the Match.Securing their record 15th Supercopa de Espana title and demonstrating their dominance in Spanish football, the triumph was a major accomplishment for Barcelona.

Barcelona has won Copa del Rey title 31 times

The Copa del Rey triumph of FC Barcelona is a testament to the team’s longstanding legacy of greatness in Spanish football.

They are the most awarded club in the competition’s history with 31 trophies, followed by Real Madrid, who have taken home the trophy 19 times.

When Barcelona won the Copa del Rey for the first time in 1910, defeating Real Madrid in the final, it started a legacy that would last for more than a century.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Barcelona’s Copa del Rey success took a turn for the better. Legendary players like Ladislao Kubala and Luis Suárez Miramontes mostly attributed the club’s triumphs during this time.

Without a question, one of the most prosperous and memorable periods in Barcelona’s history was under Pep Guardiola. The team won three Copa del Rey championships under Guardiola.

Following a brief period of hardship, the team won the Copa del Rey once more in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Lionel Messi’s incredible performance in the 2018 final versus Sevilla, where he scored two goals and provided an assist in the 5-0 victory, is especially memorable.

Barcelona cements its reputation as one of the most significant teams in Spanish football history as it contends for more Copa del Rey championships.
