TikTok star Chris O’Donnell dies at the age of 31

Chris O’Donnell, popularly known on TikTok as Creeohdee, passed away at the age of thirty-one by attempting suicide.

According to an online obituary, the fitness celebrity, whose real name was Christopher Ryan O’Donnell, died on January 11.

According to People, the social media star’s death was determined to be a suicide. The Maricopa Medical Examiner confirmed to the magazine that O’Donnell died from a gunshot wound to the head.

In November 2024, even though he had been using Instagram less frequently, Chris O’Donnell shared a compilation of videos from several of his hiking excursions. He included a note asking how people would remember him after he passed away.

A week ago, O’Donnell posted a picture of himself standing in the desert wearing a white button-up shirt, aviator sunglasses, and a straw cowboy hat. 

Who is Chris O’Donnell?

Chris O’Donnell, well known on TikTok as Creeohdee, was a fitness influencer. He was born in 1993.

During his active TikTok presence, O’Donnell earned over 842,000 followers and 28.2 million likes. On Instagram, he has more than 241,000 followers.

O’Donnell’s content mostly included travel experiences, fitness regimens, and open conversations about sobriety and mental health.

He publicly discussed his path to recovery since 2018 and sought to help anyone going through comparable difficulties. 

Sincerity was important to Chris, and he frequently shared details of his life outside of fitness with his fans. He talked about his family a lot, including special occasions like his brother’s wedding, which he called one of his favorite memories.

His final TikTok post featured a video of him speaking at his brother’s wedding, which he claimed he considered while “reminiscing on old memories.”

The sequence in the seven-minute video was described by O’Donnell as “one of my proudest moments as a brother, being able to send these two off into the next chapter of their lives.”

Friends and fans reactions on his death

Chris O’Donnell’s candor about his setbacks and victories forever changed the online fitness and health community.

Fans and other influencers honored him after his passing, praising his bravery in tackling taboo subjects like addiction and mental health.

In a touching tweet, social media star Kevin Clevenger, one of his close pals, shared his sorrow: “One day I’ll find peace in knowing you’re not in pain anymore, but today my heart aches that you’re gone.I love you.’

Morgan Ballou one of O’Donnell’s closest friends, shared his emotion by writing, ‘Chris I’ll love you forever.You’ve been a light in my life since we met in 2016.I wish we would’ve moved to CA together in 2021 like we talked about.’

One of his followers (fans) also sent condolences to the O’Donnell family, writing, ‘I’m so sorry for your loss; my heart aches with your family. I never had the pleasure of knowing Chris; he was an incredible, inspirational figure for myself and motivated me to go to the gym.’

One wrote, ‘I love you, Chris; I wish you would’ve stayed.’

On both channels, O’Donnell regularly posted images and videos of his dog and his outdoor activities in addition to fitness updates and workout routines.

In a pinned 2022 Instagram post, Chris O’Donnell opened up about his past, sharing personal stories that resonated with his followers on Instagram.

He disclosed that he was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and that he had a “background in mental health and substance abuse.”
