Comedian Samay Raina, who is currently touring Canada for his comedy shows, has made his first move on YouTube after the controversy surrounding his web show, India’s Got Latent.
The show faced severe backlash following a controversial remark made by guest Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps.
As multiple FIRs were filed and legal proceedings reached the Supreme Court, Samay took down all episodes of the show from YouTube. Now, after weeks of silence, he has shared a new post on his channel.
What did Samay Raina post?
On Friday night, Samay Raina made a brief yet impactful return to his YouTube channel, posting exclusively for his Members Only audience.
The post was simple—just two emojis, a heart and a hug, which symbolize love, unity, and support. Although Samay limited the post to his paid subscribers, it quickly captured many people’s attention.
In under a minute, it had already received close to 8,000 likes, as shared in a screenshot by one fan.
Another Reddit user noted that the post had reached over 11,000 likes within just four minutes, highlighting the strong and supportive response from his audience.
Despite the simplicity of the message, it clearly resonated with fans, showing their unwavering support for Samay.
Although Samay’s post didn’t include any clear message or video, fans speculated that he might have initially planned to share a video but decided against it because of the ongoing controversy.
One Reddit user suggested, “He must be thinking of editing and posting a video, but then he must have realized that he can’t. So that’s all he can post now.”
The ‘India Got Latent’ Controversy
The scandal started when Ranveer Allahbadia made a comment during an episode of India’s Got Latent.
Outrage erupted when he joked about “watching your parents have sex or joining them” during the broadcast. The statement led to multiple FIRs being filed against Samay, Ranveer, and other panelists on the show.
Samay made the decision to take all of India’s Got Latent’s episodes down from YouTube in response to the uproar.
The judicial proceedings of the incident brought even more attention to the issue when they reached the Supreme Court. As a result of this, Samay was silent for a spell and stopped sharing new stuff.
