Elon Musk welcomes his 14th child

Elon Musk has reportedly welcomed his 14th child, this time with Shivon Zilis, marking their fourth child together.

The billionaire entrepreneur and the Neuralink executive continue to expand their family, though details about the newborn remain private. Musk, known for his unconventional views on population growth, has often spoken about the importance of having more children.

The couple also has three-year-old twins, Strider and Azure, as well as their one-year-old daughter, Arcadia.

The news comes just days after writer Ashley St. Clair claimed that she and Musk welcomed a son together five months ago. According to People, St. Clair said she had kept the birth private for her child’s safety but felt the need to speak out after reports began circulating in the media.

Name of the child: Seldon Lycurgus

Shivon Zilis, 39, took to X on Friday, February 28, to announce the birth of her and Elon Musk’s fourth child and second son together.

“Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus,” she wrote. “Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much ♥️.”

Seldon is thought to have been inspired by Hari Seldon, a key figure in Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series. Hari Seldon is a mathematician who created “psychohistory,” a theory used to forecast and influence the course of civilization.

Conversely, the ancient Spartan lawgiver who is credited with forming Sparta’s military-oriented civilization is known as Lycurgus. He is credited with creating eunomia, a system of “good order” that the Spartans admired, and enacting stringent legal changes.

Who is Shivon Zilis?

Shivon Zilis is an artificial intelligence (AI) executive and venture capitalist from Canada. Her work in the tech sector, specifically in AI and machine learning, has earned her the most recognition.

As a senior executive at Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-chip firm, Zilis has played a significant role. She has also worked on AI-related projects at Tesla and been associated with OpenAI, where she formerly held a leadership position.

Zilis, who was born in 1985, played goalie for Yale University’s ice hockey team while simultaneously studying philosophy and economics. She has been acknowledged as a rising talent in the area and has dedicated her career to developing AI technologies.

Together, Elon Musk and Justine Musk, his first wife, produced six kids. Nevada Alexander Musk, their first son, was born in 2002 but tragically died of SIDS at the age of 10 weeks.

Through in vitro fertilization, the couple welcomed Griffin Musk and his twin, Vivian Jenna Wilson, in 2004. Vivian officially distanced herself from Musk in 2022 after legally changing her name and gender from Xavier Musk. Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk, the couple’s triplets, were also conceived through IVF in 2006.

Grimes, a Canadian musician, and Elon Musk had three kids together. Although his original name, “X Æ A-12,” had to be changed to conform to California’s naming regulations, their first son, X Æ A-Xii Musk, was born in 2020.

They welcomed their surrogate-born daughter, Exa Dark Siderael Musk, fondly known as “Y,” in 2021. Though not much is known about him, their third kid, Techno Mechanicus, also called “Tau,” was made public in 2023.

Five months ago, in 2023, author Ashley St. Clair claimed that she and Elon Musk had a son together. Musk hasn’t, however, confirmed or accepted the story in public.
