Gagan Thapa on Kulman, Says Ministers Should Focus on What Matters
General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa, has called the government’s decision to remove Kulman Ghising from the Electricity Authority unnecessary.

While visiting Dhankuta, Thapa criticized the government, saying that even though they were working hard to make it successful, it kept getting caught up in the wrong things.
He said, “We’re working to make this government a success. We’re putting in the effort and asking for results. We want people across the country to appreciate our ministers. But sometimes, it’s just disappointing. Because of decisions that don’t need to be made, we’re now having to explain ourselves unnecessarily all over the country.”
Thapa also urged the ministers from his own party to stay away from things that don’t need to be done.
The Energy Minister, Deepak Khadka, who is from Congress, was the one who pushed the decision to remove Kulman. Speaking about it, Thapa said, “A few days ago, the government made a decision about an employee that didn’t need to be made.
Now, because of that unnecessary move, our friends are stuck answering questions everywhere. They’re getting backlash on social media and even in their neighborhoods. So, we’re telling our ministers — do the things that need to be done. Don’t go after what shouldn’t be done. Let us promote your good work instead!”
He added that during his time as Health Minister, people still appreciate the work he did, no matter where he goes. #GaganThapa #KulmanGhising #NepaliPolitics #GovernmentDecision
