In recent months, Iran has decided to increase its nuclear activity. This move came after the United States and Israel carried out airstrikes on some of Iran’s nuclear sites. These attacks damaged a few buildings and equipment, but they did not completely stop Iran’s nuclear progress. Instead of slowing down, Iran is now pushing forward even more strongly. The government has announced that it will continue enriching uranium and has stopped working with international inspectors. This shows that Iran does not want to be seen as weak or afraid.
Refusing to Cooperate with Inspectors
Iran has also stopped working with the International Atomic Energy Agency, which used to check its nuclear activities. Inspectors are no longer allowed to visit key sites. This has made other countries more worried, because now no one can clearly see what Iran is doing. Iran says it stopped cooperating because it feels unfairly treated by the West. By doing this, Iran is sending a message: it will not be told what to do by foreign powers.

This decision has made many countries nervous. Without inspections, no one knows for sure what Iran is doing inside its nuclear buildings. Other governments are afraid that Iran might be hiding something or working in secret. Iran, however, says it ended the cooperation because it feels the West has been unfair.
Claiming a Legal Right

Iran often says it is allowed to use nuclear technology under international law. The country signed a treaty that says every nation has the right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Iran argues that it is only trying to make energy, not weapons. However, other countries are not so sure. They worry that Iran might use the same technology to build nuclear bombs in the future. Iran says that unless all countries are treated equally, it will not back down.
Some countries already have nuclear weapons, Iran is only trying to build power plants and not missiles. They feel that they are being treated unfairly because other countries are not being questioned in the same way. Iran argues that powerful countries like the United States and some in Europe want to stop Iran from developing, even though they use nuclear power themselves.
Religious Law vs. Security Concerns
For many years, Iran’s top leader had said that making nuclear weapons was against Islamic law. He issued a religious order, or “fatwa,” saying it was not allowed. But now, some people inside the government and military are starting to question that. They believe that recent threats have changed the situation. If the country is not safe, they say, it may be time to reconsider old rules. This debate is still going on inside Iran.
Talks With the West Are Frozen
In the past, Iran had discussions with Europe and the United States to try and make a deal about its nuclear program. These talks have stopped. Iran says it will not return to the table while it is being threatened or attacked. The government believes it deserves respect and fair treatment. Until that happens, they will continue their work without foreign involvement. Diplomacy seems far away right now, and tensions are growing.
