Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recently applauded young Gen Z journalists for their role in challenging and exposing India’s international narrative. He highlighted how these journalists used global media platforms and digital reporting to share Pakistan’s perspective on Kashmir, terrorism, and diplomacy. Bilawal called their efforts a major success in what he termed a global narrative war against misinformation.
Pakistan’s Diplomacy Gained Strength Through Youth Reporting
Bilawal also highlighted how recent visits to countries like the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union have opened doors for dialogue. During these official diplomatic tours, Pakistan engaged with global leaders, media houses, and civil society to explain its views on sensitive topics such as Kashmir, cross-border tensions, and regional peace.

However, what made these efforts more impactful was the parallel voice of young Pakistani journalists. They shared real-time updates, created powerful media content, and used social platforms to spread the Pakistani viewpoint something that formal diplomacy often struggles to achieve on its own. Because of these efforts, more people globally have been able to see Pakistan’s side of the story.
Gen Z Journalists Seen as Watchdogs Against Misinformation
The PPP chairman emphasized the vital role of Gen Z journalists in resisting disinformation. He urged these young reporters to stand firm against narratives that paint Pakistan unfairly. Bilawal said the journalistic community helped reveal the truth around allegations like Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and water rights violations.
Additionally, Bilawal advised the youth of India to be cautious of hate-based content they see online. He urged them to seek peace and unity rather than blindly following divisive messages. He expressed hope that the younger generation, both in Pakistan and India, could work together for a more peaceful future by rejecting propaganda and seeking truth.
Bilawal Calls for Support to Protect Journalists and Press Freedom
Bilawal also praised Pakistani media organizations, such as the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), for their resilience during intense political and diplomatic pressure. He demanded stronger legal protections for journalists and called for an end to censorship in all forms. Bilawal spoke against surveillance, digital censorship laws, and restrictions that stifle free expression.
He promised that PPP would continue its legacy of defending press freedom, following in the footsteps of his mother, Benazir Bhutto, and grandfather, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
