Former Crown Prince of Nepal Paras Shah hospitalized

After having a heart attack on Sunday, former Crown Prince Paras Shah was taken to Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Shah is no longer in danger, according to the hospital, and his condition is stable. Shah has a history of heart issues, but he is improving.

He has received hospital visits from former Crown Princess Himani Shah and former Queen Komal. Gyanendra Shah, the former King, is now in Pokhara for a scheduled function; thus, he has not yet reached Kathmandu.

Faniraj Pathak, press secretary to former King Gyanendra Shah, shared that the former crown prince was rushed to Norvic Hospital after experiencing chest pain. “He is receiving treatment in the ICU. The doctors have said that he is out of danger,” Pathak said, quoting the physicians attending to the former crown prince.

Past history of Paras Shah’s heart attack

Shah has experienced heart-related issues in the past. He suffered a heart attack in September 2023 and was admitted to HAMS Hospital in Mandikhatar. Shah had a heart attack earlier in 2019 and was treated at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali.

2015 saw the successful implantation of an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator, a unique battery-operated device that helps treat arrhythmias, or abnormal heartbeats.

After a heart attack, former Crown Prince Paras Shah undergoes an angioplasty. In 2013, while in Bangkok, he also managed to survive a major heart arrest. He had previously had a small heart attack in September 2007 and had an angioplasty at Norvic Hospital.

Arrested with Marijuana in 2014 in Thailand

He was arrested from his hotel when he was found with two pouches of marijuana and was released after some investigation.

Son of Gyanendra Shah, the last king of Nepal, Paras has lived in Bangkok for a long time and has had run-ins with Thai officials.

He was arrested in 2012 for causing damage to a luxury Bangkok apartment that he rented. Days after he was released on bond for marijuana possession in Phuket, a popular vacation destination in Thailand, the incident occurred.

He had a heart attack last year and spent several weeks at a renowned Bangkok hospital. While in Kathmandu in 2007, he also experienced a small heart attack.
