Pakistan, Afghanistan begin key talks to boost trade and fight terror

Pakistan and Afghanistan have started a new round of talks to improve their relationship. These important meetings happened in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. This is the first time in over a year that both countries have met to talk about working together. The talks focused on improving trade, handling border problems, and stopping terrorism. Both sides agreed that peace, friendship, and strong cooperation are needed for the good of their people.

Are They Making Trade Easier at the Border ?

Trade was one of the most important topics during the talks. Pakistan and Afghanistan share a long border, and many traders, farmers, and businesses rely on smooth movement across it. However, delays, high fees, and strict rules have made things difficult. Now, both countries want to change that. They plan to keep important border points like Torkham and Ghulam Khan open 24 hours a day. This will help reduce waiting time and allow goods to move quickly.

They also agreed to make customs checks faster and reduce paperwork. A new joint committee will be created to watch over the trade system and solve any problems. Both countries believe that stronger trade will help their economies grow and create more jobs for their people.

Improving Diplomatic Ties

Besides trade and security, both sides also discussed improving their diplomatic relations. Pakistan said it will now send a full ambassador to Afghanistan, and Afghanistan will do the same. This step shows trust and a wish to keep talking regularly. When ambassadors are present, it becomes easier to solve problems and understand each other better.

They also talked about helping Afghan refugees living in Pakistan. Many Afghans left their country due to war and live in Pakistan for safety. Pakistan wants to support them better and also make the visa process easier for Afghan students, workers, and families who need to travel across the border.

Working Together to Stop Terrorism

Another serious topic in the talks was terrorism. Pakistan has been hurt by attacks from militant groups who cross over from Afghanistan. Pakistan asked Afghanistan to stop such groups from using their land to plan attacks. Afghanistan responded by saying they will work on the issue and try to stop anyone causing trouble.

Both countries agreed to share more information and take action together. They know that peace cannot happen without safety. The goal is to protect both countries from violence and give their people a peaceful future.

Positive Step for Peace and Progress

These new talks show that Pakistan and Afghanistan want to move forward. After many years of tension and problems, both sides now understand that working together is better. Trade, peace, and strong communication can improve the lives of millions of people.

By keeping the border open, fighting terrorism together, and planning big projects, Pakistan and Afghanistan are showing the world that they are ready for a better future. This could bring more hope and stability not only to their countries but also to the entire region.
