Pakistan Assembly Voices Support for Gaza

Pakistan Assembly Voices Support for Gaza

Pakistan’s National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza. Lawmakers from all parties joined hands in denouncing Israel’s military operations, calling them a heinous wave of atrocities against innocent civilians. The resolution strongly condemned destruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and places of worship under ongoing Israeli action in Gaza.

Calls for Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid Grow Loud in Parliament

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, who presented the resolution, urged the United Nations and world leaders to act without delay. He demanded a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and continuous, sustained humanitarian aid for civilians.

Members of Parliament stressed the need for international accountability and urged recognition of Palestinian rights, consistent with UN Security Council resolutions.

In his speech, Law Minister Tarar not only drew clear connections between Pakistan’s founding principles and its current stance but also emphasized that Pakistan’s position has consistently mirrored the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Furthermore, he highlighted how Jinnah rejected the legitimacy of Israel and steadfastly stood with the Palestinian cause.

Political Voices Emphasize National Unity on Palestine

Ministry officials declared that the nation stands united on the issue of Palestine, dismissing any attempts at politicizing the cause. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar noted that Pakistan’s passport explicitly prohibits travel to Israel, underscoring Pakistan’s non-recognition policy.

Speakers appealed for unity beyond party lines, stressing that supporting Palestinian rights is a national consensus and not a political tool.

Helping People and Supporting Education Shows Care

In addition to political support, Pakistani leaders highlighted tangible aid initiatives. They confirmed that over 200 Palestinian students currently study medicine in Pakistan with free accommodation. The Al-Khidmat Foundation also sent tons of relief goods to Gaza through safe channels.

Lawmakers suggested evacuating wounded Palestinians and providing treatment in Pakistan. They painted these efforts as gestures of human solidarity and a reflection of Pakistan’s long-term commitment to support the oppressed.

During debate, speakers drew parallels between Gaza and Kashmir, saying both are struggles for justice denied through force. They reaffirmed that self-determination and dialogue must replace violence in both cases.

Multiple lawmakers called on Pakistan’s government to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums with the same intensity it applies to Palestine.
