A never-before-seen high-altitude reality adventure is set to make its global debut as “Challengers Everest”, a world record–setting series filmed above Everest Base Camp at 18,519 feet, premieres tomorrow, August 2, 2025, on YouTube.
Bringing together 11 YouTubers from six countries including Nepal, India, USA, Colombia, Thailand, and the Philippines — the show blends grueling mountain challenges, cultural immersion, and climate storytelling in an eight-part competition set against the majestic backdrop of the Himalayas. None of the creators have any prior mountaineering experience, adding a raw authenticity to their struggle and transformation on the trail.
At the heart of the show are the Himalayan Games, a series of extreme physical and mental challenges inspired by real expedition training and guided by some of the most legendary mountaineers of all time:
- Kami Rita Sherpa, world record holder for most Everest summits
- Mingma David Sherpa, record holder for K2 ascents
- Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja, famed for fastest climbs of 8,000m peaks
Hosted by popular Indian television icon Nikhil Chinapa, “Challengers Everest” aims to entertain, inspire, and mobilize. With over 40 million combined followers among the contestants, the show is also a strategic tool for environmental advocacy. It draws global attention to the Himalayan glaciers, the water source for over 2 billion people, now rapidly melting due to climate change.
The series is produced by impact-driven startup World Vlog Challenge and will be released in English with multilingual subtitles.
